András Schiff Piano Recital

Beethoven: 6 Bagatelles op.126
Piano Sonata No.32 in C minor op.111
33 Variations on a theme of Diabelli in C major op.120

On Sunday, I attended a concert, the piano recital by a Hungarian pianist Andas Schiff at Suntry Hall.
The concert was dedicated to the Tohoku region, which means he would donate all his performance fee of the night for the reconstruction from the earthquake.
He performed an all-Beethoven program, consisting of the late works filled with prayer.
After the celestial performance, he played Bach's Aria from the Goldberg Variations as an encore, and made a heartfelt speech to express his sympathy for the Tohoku.
Then, he went on the piano again, and played one more Beethoven's piano sonata, all three movements of Piano Sonata No.30 op.109.

It was a long and unforgettable night.
