I attended a piano recital of Leif Ove Andsnes.
Due to illness, he arrived in Japan late and cancelled the planned concert in Hyogo.
I worried about his condition and whether he could give ensuing recitals in Tokyo.
At Musashino, on the first day in Tokyo, he seemed to be in good condition and played a fulfilling all-Beethoven program.
Although his playing was sometimes too stylish to communicate Beethoven's struggles and convey the composer's intense emotions, on the whole, it was natural, stable, clear, and full of integrity.
He showed his sincere attitude to music as usual, and that's why I always adore his music.
